This wine is deep garnet to brick red color, coupled with its richly aromatic characters of fresh earth, cigar tobacco, cedar, leather, slight tones of eucalyptus, coffee, and cocoa. The rich flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and spices carry over from the aromas along with dried fruit, dried mushroom, and slight toasted oak. The well-developed tannin structure is an excellent representation of a wine that will be able to stand the test of time. It's complex structure and flavors lend themselves to a grilled rib eye steak with a mushroom reduction sauce, or smoked brisket with a peppercorn rub or even roasted pork tenderloin with a raspberry coulis glaze.
